The handheld mechanical anemometer measures wind speed with high accuracy and reliability, showing the readings on an analogue scale. It can be calibrated in knots, meters per second or miles per hour.

The instrument is made of metal and contains no electronic parts. It is specially designed for use in case of failure or unavailability of automatic sensors installed in aerodromes, heliports and offshore helicopter landing areas, as it complies with CAP437 regulations of the Civil Aviation Authority. It includes a carrying bag for protection during transport and storage.
