The company in charge of water supply and sanitation in the municipality of Blanes now has accurate, real-time data on the weather conditions in the area, especially rain intensity and accumulated rain.
The new buoy equipped with wind, air temperature and humidity, and water temperature sensors provides real-time data that allows accurate calculation of evaporation in El Atazar water reservoir, which belongs to the Canal de Isabel II supply network and whose capacity of 425.3 hm³ makes it the largest in the Community of Madrid.
Through this new service, citizens can now monitor the data from the municipal weather station in real time, check the weather forecast and use different tools for creating custom reports and graphs, among other features.
The new service will make it possible for the citizens of Algemesí to check the weather conditions recorded by the municipal station in real time from any location and device.
The new sensors will enable accurate measurements of the tidal variations and wave profiles in the port waters with the aim of increasing the safety of vessels and to avoid unnecessary closures.
The new system will help increase safety of large commercial vessels during mooring operations by providing port personnel with crucial information of wave profiles and tidal variations.
The weather data will be used for meteorological studies and is already publicly accessible through the online platform Weathercloud.
The new system indicates in real time if the weather conditions in the area are suitable for shooting exercises or if there is risk of fire.
