Description
High performance technology
The sensor allows monitoring visibility and present weather conditions with high accuracy and reliability in a range of up to 100 Km thanks to its modulated infrared light technology and the digital filtering and averaging of the measurements. The current weather conditions are reported using the codes of the World Meteorological Organization (WMO).
To determine the visibility, the sensor emits modulated infrared light from the transmitter and measures what percentage of it reaches the receiver according to the principle of forward scattering of light caused by airborne particles.
Compact and weatherproof design
The instrument has a compact design and is entirely made of aluminium to ensure high resistance to weathering. The optional heaters activate automatically at temperatures around 4ºC, preventing the accumulation of ice and snow and allowing precise measurements at low temperatures or during and after a snowfall.
Maximum connectivity
It can be connected to any conventional datalogger to perform the data storage and its subsequent downloading and monitoring on a computer. It features RS-232, RS-422 and RS-485 serial ports, an analog output and 3 relay alarm outputs.
Multitude of applications
Its outstanding versatility makes it ideal for all kind of applications in many fields, the main ones being:
- Meteorology.
- Aerodromes.
- Heliports.
- Civil protection.
