Description
High performance technology
The sensor allows monitoring hail events with high accuracy and reliability. It is specially designed to be used in early warning systems or as part of a meteorological network providing real-time information to the operators. The sensor is capable of classifying individual hailstones in function of their size and damage potential.
To determine the impacts, the sensor relies on vibration technology. The wide sensing area ensures that a representative sample of hail pellets generates impacts on the vibrating plate, thus increasing measurement reliability and preventing false detections.
It can be connected to any conventional datalogger to perform the data storage and its subsequent downloading and monitoring on a computer. It features a RS-485 serial port.
Multitude of applications
Its outstanding versatility makes it ideal for all kind of applications in many fields, the main ones being:
- Meteorology.
- Aerodromes.
- Heliports.
- Civil protection.
