Description

Accurate detection

Boltek lightning detectors use state-of-the-art technology to ensure maximum accuracy and reliability. The LD-250 model allows turning the computer into a complete equipment for monitoring storms within a radius of up to 480 Km. It includes the high-sensitivity omnidirectional antenna with a 15 meters long cable, the receiver unit that stores the data, the AC power adapter and the powerful NexStorm Lite™ monitoring software for Windows from Astrogenic Systems.

The receiver unit connects to the computer via RS-232 or USB and stores data even when the computer is powered off, allowing the download and monitoring afterwards.

Software with configurable alarms

In just milliseconds the lightning strikes are detected and the NexStorm Lite™ software locates them in real time on the map. The different zoom levels allow zooming out to get an overview of the storm or to zoom in to see a specific electrical discharge in detail.

Visual and audible alarms can be set up for nearby or intense storms. The first one is triggered upon detecting an electrical discharge within the distance range preset by the user, while the second one is triggered upon detecting a number of electrical discharges per minute that exceeds the preset threshold. These visual and audible alarms are also triggered in the receiving unit.

The data of the electrical discharges are stored permanently on the hard disk of the computer, allowing to see past events again in time-lapse, from any past time to the present, in order to know the trend of the storms.

The optional Lightning/2000™ software from Aninoquisi can also be used instead of the included software.

Alarm module (optional)

The RLO-10 module allows activating external devices based on the alarms programmed on the LD-250.

Tracking from vehicles (optional)

The LDGPS-1 (GPS) or LDCMP-1 (compass) modules allow the LD-250 to be used for tracking storms from vehicles.
