The station is once again fully operational and now has a new 4G communication system for remote data transmission to the Weathercloud online platform.
Darrera has completed the renovation of the weather station of the Vall d’en Joan landfill site, which ceased its activity in 2006 and whose 60-hectare extension has been subjected to a landscape repair project for its integration into the area of the Garraf Natural Park.
The works have included the dismantling of all the elements that made up the station, the upgrading of the sensors, the datalogger, the power supply system and the data transmission system, the installation of a new mounting structure and putting the unit back into operation.
The upgrade of the station has included important enhancements, such as a new ISO 9060 second class pyranometer, a high-precision rain gauge and the laboratory calibration of the combined sensor for measuring wind, temperature, humidity and atmospheric pressure. In addition, the new datalogger installed features a 4G communication system for remote data transmission to the Weathercloud online platform. The platform allows employees of the management company to monitor the current weather conditions in real time, create custom plots and generate daily, monthly and yearly weather reports.
