The new station installed at the San Fernando shipyard has made it possible to monitor the sea level accurately and in real time during the maneuvers for the launching of the Unayzah corvette, built by Navantia for the Royal Navy of Saudi Arabia.
The LX-80 tide sensor uses microwave radar technology to measure the sea level under any weather condition, including rain, fog or dew, and features a compact design made of anodized aluminium to ensure high resistance in marine environments without being affected by sea splashes.
The solution developed entirely by Darrera has a solar power system for fully autonomous operation, a folding structure made of AISI 304 stainless steel and a datalogger with both local and 4G communication, allowing Navantia operators to access the information registered by the station remotely through the Weathercloud online platform.
