The new station allows monitoring of weather conditions in this section of the N-230 road in order to increase safety of drivers.
Installed on a 5-meter road pole, the unit is equipped with sensors for measuring all the main meteorological parameters, including wind speed and direction, temperature, humidity and precipitation. The entire sensor suite is powered by solar energy for fully autonomous operation.
The weather data is sent in real time to the control center of the infrastructure manager for remote monitoring by road maintenance personnel. Also, citizens can access the data online through the Weathercloud platform: app.weathercloud.net/d0246604700. The weather information provided by the station previously installed at the northern mouth of the Vielha tunnel is also available on Weathercloud: app.weathercloud.net/d0919369190
