The real-time weather information provided by the 8 stations that currently make up the network will help optimize maintenance operations and increase safety in the Madrid metro, the 7th longest in the world with a total length of 293 km.
Darrera has recently expanded the MeteoMetro weather network with the addition of 7 stations in different key locations throughout the city, which add to a first unit previously installed by Darrera in the Canillejas facility of Metro de Madrid.
Just as the first station installed, the 7 new units are equipped with sensors for measuring wind speed and direction, temperature, humidity, precipitation and atmospheric pressure, and feature a system for automated and real-time weather data sending to the Internet, which allows for remote monitoring and management from the control center of Metro de Madrid.
