The weather data will be used for meteorological studies and is already publicly accessible through the online platform Weathercloud.
The new station, installed on a 10-meter tower with hinged base, is equipped with sensors for measuring wind speed and direction, temperature, humidity, precipitation, atmospheric pressure and solar and UV radiation. All the data is sent automatically and in real time to the cloud over 3G for remote monitoring and management by the local meteorological service, and is also available online to the public. The sensors, data logger and 3G communications system are powered by solar energy for total autonomy.
