Thanks to this project, Santa Perpètua de Mogoda joins the growing network of municipalities committed to providing accurate and reliable local weather information to its citizens.
The new Vantage Pro2 Plus automatic weather station, installed by Darrera technicians in the city hall building, is powered by solar energy for fully autonomous and environmentally-friendly operation. The sensor array is equipped with a cup anemometer, wind vane, thermo-hygrometer, tipping bucket rain gauge, barometer, pyranometer and UV radiation sensor.
The weather data is sent via Wi-Fi to the Weathercloud online platform for municipalities, allowing remote access from a computer, tablet or smartphone. Residents can now check the current weather conditions in real-time and the local 6-day weather forecast, as well as download weather reports in PDF and generate evolution graphs from the historical database fully open to the public.
