The new HASE-SYNOP hail sensor installed by Darrera combines innovative measurement technology and remote communication over 3G for sending data to the cloud. The system is based on measuring the vibration caused by each hail impact on a sensing area of 0.2 m2. This ensures that a representative sample of hailstones generates impacts on the vibrating plate, thus increasing measurement reliability and preventing false detections.
The data is sent automatically to the cloud over 3G for remote access through an online platform, which allows monitoring of hail impacts in real time, configuring custom alerts and analyzing historical data.
