Description
High performance technology
The sensor is used to measure snow depth with high accuracy and reliability thanks to its ultrasonic technology with a beam angle of only 12º and the digital filtering and averaging of the measurements. The external temperature sensor allows to compensate temperature effects on the measurements.
To determine the depth, the sensor emits an ultrasonic pulse and then measures the elapsed time between the emission and the return of the pulse after being reflected on the snow. It is also capable of determining the snowfall intensity.
It can be connected to any conventional datalogger to perform the data storage and its subsequent downloading and monitoring on a computer.
Its high performance makes it ideal for all kind of security and control applications in ski resorts, roads, rivers, lakes, reservoirs, dams, etc. Its low power consumption allows to use it in installations powered by solar panels.
Rugged and weatherproof design
The sensor has a very rugged design and is made of anodized aluminium to ensure high resistance to weathering. The internal circuit is protected against overvoltage and reverse polarity.
