The new station will be part of the observation network of the Maresme County Council’s Meteorological Service, currently formed by 13 observation points throughout the region.
The weather information provided by the Pineda de Mar station will help improve the forecasts of the County Council’s Meteorological Service and to make decisions in risk situations.
The new station is equipped with sensors for measuring wind speed and direction, temperature, humidity, precipitation, atmospheric pressure and solar and UV radiation. The station also features a system for automated and real-time weather data sending to the Internet, which allows for remote monitoring and management. The sensors, data logger and 3G communication system are powered by solar energy for total autonomy.
