The sensors will be part of the maintenance stock for the Automatic Weather Stations Network (XEMA) of the Meteocat.
The new tender called by the Meteorological Service of Catalonia includes the supply of 20 mechanical anemometers made by the American manufacturer R.M. Young, 5 of which are specifically designed for harsh marine environments.
The acquisition of the anemometric sensors is part of the maintenance plan designed for the network of automatic weather stations of the Meteocat, which currently has over 225 observation points throughout Catalonia.
