Darrera installs and commissions 4 high performance wind stations in the new L9 line of the Barcelona Metro, which will allow studies on the impact of wind on trains passing through the surface-level stations.
The installation of the 4 wind stations is part of the comprehensive set of measures aimed at increasing the safety of the infrastructure and passengers.
Each set consists of an ultrasonic anemometer fitted with an uninterruptible power supply system that ensures the availability of wind speed and direction data in the event of power outages. Data can be accessed both remotely from the control center of the L9 and locally from the 4 stations where the sensors are installed.
The ambitious project of the L9 includes the construction of 52 stations spread over 47.8 kilometers of track, and will become, when completed, the longest underground metro line in Europe.
