The weather data will be used for meteorological studies and is already available online via the Weathercloud platform.
The new station, installed on a 5-meter tower with hinged base, is equipped with sensors for measuring wind speed and direction, temperature, humidity, precipitation, atmospheric pressure and solar and UV radiation. The sensors are powered by solar energy for total autonomy.
The station is connected to the local network of the building and all the information is sent automatically and in real time to the cloud for remote monitoring and management by the Department of the Environment. Additionally, the data is also available online to the public via the Weathercloud platform.
